Smbup high sierra6/22/2023 With Windows, I usually make a Folder on the Desktop called Canon Scans, does this procedure work the same on a Mac? Thanks in advance for your help. I am trying to install Scanning from a Canon AdvC5035. I am not at all familiar with Mac and always had difficulties with the FTP protocol. I know this post is old but does the SMB still work with the High Sierra 10.13.2 version. The share path for the folder you created will look something like this assuming you created a folder called Scans in the public folder \\hostname\Users's Public Folder\Scans. ![]() Once you select the folder you are going to share click "Options" and and be sure the account the copier is going to log in with is selected (I usually just use the user's account) and that "Share files and folders using SMB" is turned on. You can add other folders to share if you want to buy I find it is simplest to just create a share folder in the public folder and make the end user a shortcut on the desktop to it. You have to turn on file sharing by going to Settings-> Sharing->File Sharing and check the box beside it. support We have a Mac Pro running a file server on Sierra via SMB. This may not help if you can only use FTP but SMB is working again on OSX 10.13. Im not sure if its b/c its a high traffic folder and just works better as its own. switched off firewall, same error, istead of using the hostname I tried the I.P, same error tried on 2 x macs and got the same error. Tried putting the scans folder in public then in home, then in mac hdd. and did you activate anything in terminal? Can you tell me if you are using port 139. Have tried your way (SMB) but keep getting server unreachable error.
